Jolly Grammar & Spellings
p86 - 88….six sps + 1 activity daily.
-tial spellings / Adverbs describing adjectives.…
On p88, parse the typed sentence first, putting n, v, adj, pp, etc. above the words. Then rewrite the sentence again putting the adverb (in bold) in the correct spot. I'll attach the correct answers to page 88 here on Friday for you to self-correct.
On Friday ask an adult to give you a sp test on 10-12 of the words, calling them out to you in a sentence as I do at school (dictation) rather than just a list of random words)
Go With The Flow handwriting book - p33.

On google classroom, I will post answers to Mon/Tues work on Tues, to Wed/Thurs work on Thurs and to the test on Fri morn. You will be able to correct your own work.
Try every question....you'll be learning by doing. Just give them your best shot and ask someone at home for help if you need it.
Busy at Maths
After watching these instructional videos on the order of operations, we should be able to make a pretty good attempt at doing the chapter on rules and properties.
I suggest watching the you tube video first.

The poster I've attached below gives you a handy tip for how to remember the order.
P166, just do the middle column of number 1 ,2 & 3. That's the middle column of 11 sums down the centre of the page.
On P167, do number 1 and 3.
On P168, do number 3 only.
On P169 do numbers 1 and 3.
I will post the answers on google classroom on Fri for you to self-correct.

Scoil na Mara
Cork County Council’s Environmental Awareness Team would like to bring your attention to an online educational resource, the “The Scoil na Mara” video series, which has been funded through the 2019 Community Environment Action Fund and created by Mairéad O’Donovan.
The video series is an exploration and celebration of Irish seashore biodiversity and the importance of the ocean! It is designed to provide you with an engaging learning experience by bringing you on a 'Scoil na Mara' seashore exploration to discover interesting facts about wildlife commonly found on the Irish seashore.
I hope you enjoy this. I was fascinated by it and learned so much myself. I nearly envied Máireád her trip to this beautiful west Cork beach....especially when our own beach trips are so curtailed at the minute.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuSKcSpwjro
One thing for sure...after seeing this, you'll see Ballybunion or Banna or Inchydonney (or wherever you go to the beach) through new eyes the next time you visit.
I'd like you to do some research of your own and add to the suggestions she makes in the video for your copywork. You can use your small world copy to create a biodiversity mindmap and add some cool, fun facts about limpets, dog whelks and mussels that you will find doing your own google research.
Or you can divide an A4 page into 3 sections and make bullet points, drawings etc. on each creature.
I've put an example of a mindmap below that you could print out/copy but don't feel tied to it.
(You may be prompted to open with Google Docs)
Grow in Love
Read pages 82 - 85
In your religion copy, write a paragraph to describe someone who does great things like Jesus did when he was filled with the spirit, someone who is continuing Jesus' mission.
With all that is happening in the world at the minute, we should be able to think of someone who is helping the sick or helping through charity work. Draw a picture of that person.
You can show me your paragraphs when they're done.
I'm attaching the story 'An Indian legend' which is mentioned on page 82, as well as the song for this unit.
