Boys and girls,

I hope you have enjoyed the lovely sunshine over the past few weeks. It certainly has made it that bit easier to get out and about and stay active at this difficult time.

As most of you will remember, this time last year we marked ‘Active Schools Week’ at Shandrum NS. Each class completed different exercises each day, such as walking/running the track at the pitch, exercise stations in the yard, dance routines and much more.

As we will not be in school for this years ‘Active Schools Week’, we will instead take part in an ‘Active Home Week’. I have provided your teachers with a list of fun exercises you may complete at home each day with your family or on your own.

The aim is to complete at least 60 minutes exercise each day of the week. Your teacher will provide you with a chart which will allow you to log your exercise each day. You can choose some of the exercises I have listed, or any exercise you enjoy that is not on the list.

I will be taking part and will upload my exercise sheet to the school website at the end of each day next week.

I hope you enjoy ‘Active Home Week’.

Stay safe,

Mr. Twomey
