My wonderful Class.
I truly can't believe that this is my last Storytime for you this year. The last few months have gone so fast. I'm so proud of all of you and all the fabulous work you have done this last term. You all are so special to me and it was a joy to be your teacher this year.
You all know that I love taking pictures of you having fun learning and playing at school. As a surprise for you all Mrs Mulcahy has very kindly put all those pictures together to tell the most wonderful story about your time in Junior and senior Infants this year. A big huge thank you to Mrs. Mulcahy for this.
I hope you all enjoy it - it is by far my favourite story of Storytime this term. I love it - I hope you do too!
Thank you all for the fun and happy times we've shared this year and I can't wait to see you all again in school after the holidays.
Have the most wonderful summer and keep safe.
Lots of love and hugs,
Mrs Walmsley xxx
To all my wonderful boys and girls.
Well done on all the science you did last week and indeed all the work and activities you did at home this last term. I am so proud of all of you! Can you believe that this is our last week of school and we are getting our holidays on Thursday.
This week we have some well being activities planned for you - they are really nice activities and I hope you enjoy doing them.
This Wednesday's storytime will be our last but it's going to be extra special as I've a fabulous story to tell you all. I think you're all going to love it so don't forget to watch it on Wednesday.
In the meantime have a wonderful week,
Lots of love,
Mrs Walmsley xxx

Dear girls and boys.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Well done to you all on completing all your work last week - you have all have done so well this last term and I'm so proud of each one of you.
As you know this week is Sports Week. Mrs. Flannery has planned some fabulous activities, games and dances for you below. She has included links to explain how to do some activities and some videos also. You will see her little girl Ciara helping her with the obstacle course too! She has also included some dances from Go Noodle which I know you will love!

Take lots of photos and videos if you like too and don't forget to send them to us and we will post them on the website at the weekend. Hi boys and girls,
Here is today's story about Billy and the Midnight Star. Sorry that it's late! Enjoy!
Dear boys and girls.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the fabulous sunshine! I can't remember the last time the weather was so warm here! I love this weather but of course like all of you I put on lots of sun cream and I take Buster for his walk very early while the road is still cool for his little paws.
This week I've laid out the plan of work a little differently - you can pick and choose when you'd like to do your work and I ask that everyone completes the PAWS water safety programme please. It's very easy for junior and senior Infants but so important that you learn about water safety. As you know this is our last week of book work as you've all worked so hard for the last few months. Next week we are having sports week, the following week will be science week and the final week is a well - being week. I know that some of your books might not be completed and I don't want you to worry about that. I'm very pleased that the important topics and concepts have been covered and we will do lots of revision when we return to school aswell. During the holidays if any of you would like to complete any pages in your books not done feel free to do so but it is completely optional to do this. Well done girls and boys on your outstanding work again last week. I'm so proud of you. I have loved seeing all your fabulous pictures and hearing about your adventures - they brought me so much joy always!
Have a fabulous week and remember to do what you can and enjoy the sunshine.

Hi boys and girls. Our story today is about Kate getting a new pup... or maybe 2 ... from the Rescue Centre. I know one of our families in school got a beautiful rescue dog this week and their dog found a beautiful home also. It made me think how important it is for us to think about rescue animals if we're looking for a new pet as they are all looking for new homes! Have a great day!

Dear boys and girls.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend. It was wonderful to hear your news during the week and see some of your wonderful work. I am so proud of all of you!

Have a great week everyone and I'll see you all on Wednesday for storytime.

Hi Girls and boys.
Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Well done on all the wonderful work and fabulous activities you did last week. It was lovely to see your photos and your beautiful wild flower creations - I loved them all.
This week may be an exciting week for some as you may get to see your grandparents, neighbours, cousins or friends living close to you. I know you have missed them all very much but listen to what your parents say ..and remember that while we can see them and talk to them we still have to maintain social distancing for another while. Your parents will explain this to you.
Also this week our Church is opening for a few hours everyday. This week in our Grow in love we are learning about the Church so if you're out for a walk with your family you might like to call in and light a candle.
Have a lovely week everyone, enjoy the sunshine and keep safe and well.
I'll see you all again on Wednesday for storytime.

Hi girls and boys.
When I saw your fabulous photos from your nature walks I decided I had to go on one too. I go for a walk everyday but my nature walk today was really special -
These are some photos from my walk - of course Anna and Buster came too!
My home and farm where I grew up is right beside me so we went for our nature walk there.
Our first stop was the fox covert . When I was a small girl I used to have lots of fun playing there with my sisters and brothers. The Bluebells are so beautiful at this time of year. There is also a little stream running through it - We looked for tadpoles but we weren't as lucky as Tommy in finding some! We picked lots of wildflowers there.
That tree is our " Big tree" . It's a Beech tree and would you believe we used to climb it everyday during the summer when we were young. It's branches also held our swings and it was home base for 40/40 or tip the can!
I know it is very difficult for you to see but would you believe there's a little bird nesting in the water pump and it comes back every year to lay its eggs. Everyday we see it flying in and out of the spout. I can't wait to see how many chicks it has. (Of course it's not used as a water pump anymore! )
We also saw beautiful butterflies and bees! We had such a lovely nature walk and you can see that Buster loved it too!

Hi boys and girls,
I hope you enjoy this story about what some dogs get up to! I wonder if dogs can really fly? I know that Buster runs and jumps and eats and
sleeps but I'm not so sure that he can fly .... but who knows!!

Good morning boys and girls. Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and enjoyed the sunshine that we had for most of it! We did have a big thunderstorm Saturday evening though - Buster really didn't like it - he was snuggled on my lap for the evening and was happy to go outside once it was all over. I could see two beautiful rainbows after the storm though - I wondered if you saw one aswell..
Luke is doing great - he got his cast on Tuesday and he's managing it very well! Can you believe that he actually did his spelling test on Friday! We're all so glad to hear you're doing so well Luke
I had a lovely weekend, Anna's birthday was Saturday so we had a nice day together and our own little family party for her We made lots of treats, The mars bar slices were our favourites and I'm going to give you the recipe for you to try this week if you like.
I've more exciting news!! One of our cats - Lucky, had 6 kittens during the week. They are tiny but super cute!! They are all strong and healthy and Lucky is the best Mom keeping them safe and warm and feeding them all. One night she moved them all by herself into a little cat transport box in the garage where she knew it would be a safe place for them.
Well done to you all for all the great work that you're doing and thank you for emailing me the pictures of your work and fabulous creations! I absolutely loved your robots this week!! They were superb! I've a few here for you all to see and I'll post more on Wednesday with my story. If anyone else made one please email me a picture of it and I'll include it on Wednesday.
Keep up the fabulous work girls and boys- you are all doing great! Again this week do what you can with your parents and don't feel you have to colour everything unless you're specifically asked to do so - the main thing for me is that you understand what you're doing.
Hope you like the photos and see you Wednesday for storytime.
Have a wonderful week,
Love, Mrs. Walmsley xxx

Dear girls and boys,
I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I can't believe we're in May already!! The weeks are flying by. Thanks to everyone who sent me pictures of their fabulous work last week - it was great to see how well you are all doing. Your baking looked yummy Senior infants and your handwriting is super. Junior Infants I hope you had lots of fun measuring too -I know Mr. Browne had done some of that with you already so I bet you were excellent at it! Keep up the wonderful work and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work this week :)
I've set out your plan below for the week. Like always just do what you can and remember to get out in the sunshine and fresh air everyday. There are also lots of optional fun activities on our website under all the class links for you to do if you like aswell.
Remember to click on the links under the plan every week to help you with your work.

Dear boys and girls.
I hope you all are having a lovely week and enjoying Active Home week! Today my story is about 2 very good friends who, like you and all of our class, have lots of fun together! They play together, share their favourite things and care for each-other, like you all do with your friends at school and your family aswell. Sometimes they might even argue but like all good friends they say sorry and make up...and continue having lots of fun together again the way friends do :)
...AND guess what!!... Buster has a new friend called Milo ( who lives at my mother's house) but comes through the fields everyday to play with him. They are great friends and have lots of fun together too.
Today you could draw a picture of a fun time you've had with your friends and/or write a postcard to a special friend to let him/her know some of the fun things you've been up to!
Have a great day!
Love Mrs Walmsley.
Dear boys and girls.
I hope you are all keeping well and continuing to enjoy this lovely weather! I bet I won't recognise some of you with your fabulous tans when we go back to school! It was lovely to see some of your work during the week and I am so proud of you all for the wonderful effort you're making.
This week is Active Home week - Mr. Twomey has a letter written to you all and you can ask a parent to read it for you. He has some fun suggestions on how we can all keep fit and active for 60 minutes everyday next week - and I'm going to join in too!!
Have a wonderful week and remember to get out in this lovely sunshine everyday.

Hi boys and girls.
Today I'm going to read a story about a boy called Jack who was bored but found lots of exciting things to do in his bedroom. I bet you could find lots of new and exciting games to play too after listening to Jack's story. I hope you enjoy it!
20th April, 2020.
Hi everyone, I hope you all had a lovely Easter and enjoyed having lots of fun outside in the lovely sunshine. I had a lovely holiday too, took Buster on lots of walks and did lots of cooking and cleaning - the same as all your moms I'm sure!
I've set some work for you all for the coming week. I'd love to see some of your work too and I was thinking that if you wanted every week you could choose 2 or 3 pieces of your favourite pieces of work and your Mom or Dad can email it to me.
I'm also going to ask your parents to help me correct your work as you do it - otherwise I'll have hundreds of pages to correct when we go back to school and when we do go back we're going to spend all of our time having so much fun learning together again.
I'll have another story on the website for you on Wednesday and I hope to have a new one up for you every Wednesday. I can't wait to read to you all again but in the meantime this is a nice way for me to do that.
Of course continue to go outside and play everyday, have lots of fun and keep healthy.
Lots of love,
Mrs. Walmsley xxx
