Easter Letter to Pupils

03/04/2020

Dear Pupils,

I hope you're all keeping safe and well and adjusting to our new but temporary way of life. It has been a very unusual few weeks for all of us but I know we are all doing our absolute best to adapt to our current situation.

I have seen all the fabulous work you've done for your teachers through Google Classroom and the website - well done to you all! I have loved reading your letters and stories, I've seen your stem projects and pictures and all the other wonderful work that you all have been busy with.

All the teachers and I are so proud of all of you - you are truly amazing children! Little did we know 3 weeks ago that we would be doing school work at home and teachers would be using online platforms and the website to help you learn!

In my last letter to you I said that I hoped Google Classroom would be something new and fun that we would learn together and I think it is! We are all still learning! I really like the website too and remember that any activities on google classroom are also on the website under your class link.

The teachers and I have been learning lots of new things also so we can continue to help you as best we can while our schools are closed. During the week all the staff had a "zoom" meeting. It was lovely for us to see each other and chat, and of course our pupils - all of you - were who we spoke mostly about.

We all agreed that the most important thing for all of us is that you are all happy and healthy and none of us want schoolwork to cause any worry at this time.

You all have the most wonderful teachers and SNA's who will be there to help and support each of you when we return to school.

So girls and boys from today we are all going to take our Easter holidays for two weeks as planned. You all have worked very hard for the past 3 weeks and enjoy your break. Get plenty of exercise and there are lots of fun activities on the website to keep you occupied on rainy days.

Continue to wash your hands regularly and follow all the HSE guidelines as you've been doing all along.

Wishing you and your families a Happy Easter.

Your sincerely,

Mrs Walmsley and all of the staff.
